Ecological & Regenerative Vegetable Operation
We grow small batch, quality vegetables on one acre using an intensive human scale labor system. We believe an emphasis on the soil ecosystem and the freshness of our produce makes a real difference in the flavor and nutrition you get.
The Bionutrient Food Association (bionutrient.org) has tested produced grown with many different methods and found that the unifying factor for highly nutritious produce is how well the soil is respiring (soil microbiome is functioning).
Our practices seek to feed the microbes (compost, natural fertilizers, minerals) and provide housing that has good circulation of air and water and is not too hot or cold (reduce tillage or compaction, keep living roots in the soil, irrigate, and keep the soil covered).
Pesticides, like glyphosate, or insecticides, fungicides or synthetic fertilizers that over-ride the ecological balance are never employed here.
We use organic seeds, whenever available, and high quality natural potting soil to grow our vigorous seedlings that will interact with the soil microbiome in a robust way!
